Black Butte Ranch: A Central Oregon Wedding Destination
Venue Spotlight
Located in the heart of Central Oregon, between Sisters and Camp Sherman, the community of Black Butte Ranch is a beloved spot for locals and for repeat visitors with childhood memories here. In spring of 2023, Black Butte unveiled its new lodge which has become one of our favorite wedding venues in Central Oregon. The event space features gorgeous wood floors, a versatile space, and floor to ceiling windows with views of the Cascade Range. The main reason we are obsessed with the lodge is that this venue works in all seasons. Central Oregon’s wedding season can be short if you are relying on the outdoors only. The beautiful thing about Black Butte Ranch is that you are connected to the outdoors no matter if it’s snowing, raining, windy, or scorching hot. Couples can get married on the lawn with the mountain views, enjoy cocktail hour on the exterior deck, and move indoors for dinner without compromising on the beauty of the surroundings.
Jayne and Cody hosted their wedding at Black Butte Ranch in October. They were both living in Southern California, but Cody grew up going to Black Butte with his family and it held a special place in their hearts. We saw their engagement photos from Yosemite and instantly fell in love! The weather was in their favor on a gorgeous, crisp October morning. Black Butte offers lots of cabins and lodging options which are perfect for getting ready. Even a wildlife sighting before photos!
The outdoor ceremony included a semi circle of ground florals as their altar. The pampas grass and eucalyptus brought a natural, boho vibe that complemented the autumn grasses and changing leaves that surrounded the couple! Bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses of rust and burnt orange with different textures and styles. Groomsmen matched the groom in dark grey suits and autumnal ties.
Our vendor team remembers Jayne + Cody’s reception as a rockin’ party with a rowdy crowd! The couple ordered custom temporary tattoos for guests to wear which was so creative. One of the sweetest moments of the reception was when the group sang “That’s Amore” with lyrics printed out for each guest to honor grandma. We also loved the grand entrance followed by first dance in the sun-drenched lodge. Jayne’s black fringe dress and white cowboy boots made a statement as her dance outfit!
