Wedding Emergency Kit Must-Haves

If your wedding day is coming up, you might be wondering… What would be useful to have on hand at the venue during set up in case of emergency? Inevitably things need to be hung up, attached to something, zip tied onto the arbor, tied together, or fixed last minute! Check out these recommendations for your wedding day emergency kits. We have put together the exact list of what we carry in our kits as professional wedding planners.

We store this emergency wedding day kit in a rolling tool kit, but you could use a backpack, a rolling suitcase, or small stackable bins. You might also find these lists helpful as a wedding planner or vendor looking to bulk up your ability to problem-solve on wedding day! Wedding venue set up kit

  • Command Hooks and Strips- we use these all the time because they don’t cause damage to any surface!

  • Mr. Clean Magic Erasers- buff out scrapes or marks on your decor, rentals, or furniture

  • Wite Out- if you have white decor (like a sign) that gets damaged, this can help in a pinch!

  • Sharpies- last minute signage additions, and the opposite of Wite Out.

  • Zip Ties- these are endlessly useful for just getting things to hold together.

  • Pruning shears- we use these at weddings to cut florals from an arbor or trim the ends of a bouquet to repurpose as a centerpiece.

  • White chalk marker- sometimes venues have chalkboards and you can use this white chalk marker to make a last-minute sign.

  • Stick-Um Candle Adhesive- if you’re using taper candles + candlesticks, this is a MUST so your candles don’t tip over.

  • Gorilla Glue- broken heel? No problem.

  • Duct Tape- there’s nothing a little duct tape can’t fix.

  • Jute twine- this is great for hanging signage or decor.

  • Fishing line- the strongest, easiest, and invisible option for hanging neon signs, acrylic signage, and more!

  • Chiffon ribbon- we’ve used this to wrap an unraveled bouquet, tie decor onto ceremony chairs, and hang signs.

  • Downy wrinkle release spray- table linen and bridesmaids dresses are notoriously wrinkly. This stuff gets the job done!

  • Scissors- I basically carry these in my fanny pack all day.

  • Staple gun- a little aggressive, but hey, if you really need something to stay together, bring out the big guns.

  • Needle nose pliers- setting up decor sometimes involves some MacGyvering.

  • Spring clamps- again, gravity is working really hard at weddings and things just wanna fall apart.

  • Lighters- for lighting reception table candles and centerpieces.

  • Tablecloth clips- wind can wreak havoc on table linen. These are a lifesaver!
