Woodland Wedding with Burgundy Touches at Aspen Hall in Bend

Nikki and Dylan’s Bend destination wedding at Aspen Hall celebrated their love for the outdoors, each other, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Shiner! Their day was rustic, with nature-inspired details galore, but also emphasized romance with a blush and burgundy color palette. The picturesque setting in Bend’s Shevlin Park tied everything together. Our team loved taking on full-service planning for this beautiful wedding day!

Aspen Hall Wedding Planning

When Nikki and Dylan reached out to us, Dylan had just proposed on a trip to Iceland. They were looking for an outdoor wedding venue in Bend and wanted advice from a local planner, being from Spokane. Both love to travel and explore the great outdoors, and they knew from previous visits here that the scenery fit their wedding vision. They wanted to host an intimate gathering of loved ones, and they also wanted to prioritize photos in a beautiful location for their first look. Tucked into an old-growth forest with a cozy, rustic atmosphere, Aspen Hall was a perfect fit!

Once we found a venue that suited Nikki and Dylan’s needs and budget, we began building a vendor team that could bring their vision to life. The couple’s top priorities for their wedding day were a scenic photo-taking location, an outdoorsy theme, an elevated guest experience, and involving Shiner in the celebration. We knew Anais Possamai’s photography style would suit the couple perfectly, and she scouted the most stunning locations for their portraits! The two met for a first look at the Deschutes National Forest and explored Dillon Falls before heading to the Shevlin Park grounds surrounding Aspen Hall. Of course, Shiner was by their side for all of it!

Custom Bar and Signage Details

Nikki and Dylan’s custom bar menu was also a fun way to involve Shiner in the day. The Tipsy Lemon Bar Cart helped the couple choose three signature cocktails to represent the whole family! Guests enjoyed sipping on Dylan’s old-fashioned, Nikki’s strawberry basil mule, and Shiner’s margarita during an outdoor cocktail hour on the Aspen Hall patio.

Bespoken Creative created the couple’s cocktail menu with illustrations of each cocktail, plus an adorable drawing of Shiner! In addition, they collaborated with us to design and construct personalized signage details. A custom neon sign reading “Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz” hung above the couple’s sweetheart table and accented Aspen Hall’s massive stone fireplace. We also made a custom seating chart to honor Nikki and Dylan’s love of the outdoors! We named each table after one of their favorite mountains and created a sign with chalk mountain illustrations and an inscription that read, “Find your seat among the peaks.” Gold-framed signs on each table echoed the design.

Congratulations to Nikki and Dylan on one year of marriage! We had so much fun bonding with these fellow adventurers and nature lovers while planning their wedding at Aspen Hall. If you and your partner envision a Bend destination wedding, we would love to chat with you!
