A House on Metolius Wedding to Remember

It’s always a delightful challenge to capture the energy and emotions of a wedding on paper. Michaela and Spencer’s wedding at House on Metolius over Labor Day weekend was a celebration to remember. After a year and a half of planning, there was so much anticipation, buzzy happy energy, nerves, and love. We felt overjoyed to plan the gathering of their dreams at the iconic House on Metolius in Camp Sherman.

The reason it’s such a challenge to describe a wedding day is that there’s so much emotion— the tears in eyes, the looks on faces, the belly laughs. For us, the weddings we plan are never “perfect” or “trend-setting” or “seamless.” They are gloriously messy, laugh-until-you-cry, happy with storm clouds in the distance. This unforgettable weekend at House on Metolius was pure magic. We hope you will soak up each incredible photograph by Kayla Cindy Photo, both digital and film, and feel all the feels.

The weekend started with tacos and margs on Friday night as guests trickled in. Saturday brought storm clouds and so much excitement. Mt. Jefferson set against the moody skies was a gorgeous sight as Michaela and Spencer each got ready with their siblings. The ceremony had everyone crying happy tears, as the couple reflected on the challenges and triumphs of their relationship. These two are incredibly hard working, committed to their families, and full of unbridled joy. The reception was a rockin’ party with paella cooked on site, gelato scoops, and a special shared dance with both sets of parents. Everything from the custom signage by Bespoken Creative to the bright wildflowers by Blomstra conveyed the happy, abundant, and celebratory tone of the day.

We were blown away by Michaela’s generous review, which we have shared below so you can get a sense of what planning a wedding at House on Metolius with our team would be like:

House on Metolius is one of our absolute favorite Central Oregon wedding venues. We’ve shared about it before on the blog and love every opportunity we have to plan weddings there. House on Metolius is nestled among the campgrounds and cabins along the Metolius River. It truly feels like a world away. When you plan a wedding at House on Metolius, you have the entire historic property all to yourself for the entire weekend. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you and your guests.
