Central Oregon has so many amazing venues, and this gem in camp sherman is absolutely one of our favorites.
It’s so exciting how many couples are planning their destination wedding in Central Oregon. We work with a lot of couples who are searching for the perfect long weekend getaway to host all their closest friends + family, to experience the natural wonders of the area together. As you search for the best outdoorsy venue to host your wedding, consider House on Metolius’ historic property perched on the banks of the Metolius River.

Where is House on metolius?
House on Metolius is located in the small community of Camp Sherman, Oregon which is about a 1 hr drive from both Bend and Redmond Airport. The closest town is Sisters, Oregon which offers hotel and restaurant options. The Metolius River winds through the property which offers fun opportunities for fly fishing and swimming.
Does House on Metolius offer lodging?
Yes! The lodging on site is one of our favorite parts about House on Metolius. The Main House has eight guest rooms each with a private bathroom, including one newlywed suite. The Main House is the perfect place to host an intimate rehearsal dinner and for your wedding VIPs to gather together throughout the weekend. You can share meals in the commercial kitchen, relax in the expansive living room, and enjoy summer evenings on the patio. There are also eight other cabins on the property that accomodate between 2-6 people per cabin. There is a total on site capacity of 46 guests. There are additional lodging rental options in Camp Sherman, 10-15 min away, and Sisters, Oregon 20-25 minutes away.
What are the options for our ceremony?
One of the most popular ceremony locations is the grassy lawn (pictured below) with jaw dropping views of Mt Jefferson and the Metolius River. Another option is a slightly sloped, more shaded grassy area tucked up next to the historic cabins, which also has beautiful views framed by large ponderosa pine trees.

How many guests can we have?
House on Metolius can accommodate 180 wedding guests.
What requirements are there?
House on Metolius does not require ‘in house’ food and beverage services, so you are welcome to use any professional catering service and OLCC licensed bartenders that you like. The entire property is an incredible blank slate, so you get to design the wedding that is unique to you as a couple. House on Metolius does require a professional wedding coordinator as well as event insurance.
How much does it cost?
House on Metolius has been a private estate and retreat for over 100 years, hosting a small number of exclusive wedding experiences each year. The cost of hosting your wedding at the property varies depending on season and guest count. In general, venue fees range from $25,000-$33,000. This includes two nights of lodging (Main House and cabins) and exclusive use of the entire 210 acre property for up to 46 guests. Additional guests for the wedding day itself are $50 per adult. Some couples choose to pay for all of the lodging for the 46 guests staying on site, while others have their guests share that cost.
