Rachel and Phil’s epic love story started in Portland, Oregon when they met while bar hopping.

Their love of the PNW was what inspired this East Coast couple to get married at Ranch of the Canyons in Central Oregon. This venue boasts 600 acres of working farmland and includes more than 500 acres of some of the most beautiful wildlife habitat on land that is permanently protected for conservation by the Deschutes Basin Land Trust.

These two created a unique and fun experience for their guests who travelled all across the country to celebrate their nuptials.

Working with Rachel was a dream. She was the perfect combination of decisive and trusting during the planning process, including with her design vision. She knew exactly what was important to her and Phil, but then let our team run with the rest. The best part was that she was always quick to respond and to give praise. Rachel kept her cool (literally) during a very hot wedding day with many things going awry.

The theme for their wedding was high desert boho, featuring a summery color palette of terracotta, dusty rose, yellow gold, and eucalyptus. The inclusion of terracotta as their table linen was a perfect accent to their reception design, which had their sweetheart table as the main focal point as we repurposed their ceremony arbor as their backdrop.

Wild Poppy Florist really outdid themselves on this celebration that showcased pampas grass, greenery, and other stunning florals.

After a memorable wedding ceremony at the base of Smith Rock, guests were treated to several mobile carts featuring tacos, ice cream, and the bar.

Rachel and Phil really embraced their fun and casual wedding atmosphere in which every single guest truly enjoyed.

One of the many highlights from this day was the couple and wedding party’s grand entrance into the reception. Guests made a big tunnel and featured the bridesmaids and groomsmen who came out to songs by Tupac, Sugar Ray, and the Notorious B.I.G. It truly sent the tone of the party that was about to commence.

This hot July day was a comedy of errors behind the scenes. The cake started to slide apart as soon as it was out of the fridge. Just an example of one of many things that can go awry, but if we’re doing our job well, you won’t even know they are happening!

And in the end, it truly takes a village when it comes to a successful wedding. And this really became evident when the guest shuttle got into a fender bender and couldn't pick up the guests after the wedding, so all of the vendors pitched in to help drive wedding guests back to Bend.
