Elevated Summer Camp Wedding at Lake Creek Lodge
Our team loved working with Mickey and Phil to plan their Lake Creek Lodge wedding. We knew we’d be a perfect fit when we discovered their love of road trips, dogs, and skiing! We were fortunate to work with them from the beginning of the planning process to bring their modern and elegant summer camp wedding to life. When they reached out, they had only hired Kayla Cindy as their photographer—lucky for them, we love working together!
Their wedding day was full of whimsy and delicious food courtesy of Bowtie Catering and Crumb Cakery, with a relaxed atmosphere. It was definitely one of our favorites from the 2022 season!
Planning a Lake Creek Lodge Wedding
When we met Mickey and Phil, they shared that they wanted to find a laidback outdoor wedding venue, ideally with on-site camping or lodging. Lake Creek Lodge in Camp Sherman immediately came to mind! It ended up being a great fit, with campsites on the Metolius River and enough on-site cabins to lodge all the couple’s out-of-town guests.
Having planned prior weddings at Lake Creek Lodge, our team was confident we could execute Mickey and Phil’s vision there—and then some! Still, the trust that this couple showed in our abilities was heartwarming. Mickey especially is a very go-with-the-flow person who trusted us with planning every detail of the day from start to finish. On the wedding morning, she was on her way to get ready and paused to ask if everything was coming together. It was the only time we detected a flutter of nerves! We hugged and assured her that everything was on track. Then, she gave us a huge smile and practically skipped to her cabin!
Whimsical Wedding Day Details
We loved the unique aesthetic of this wedding day, from the all-white florals to the pops of forest green. Mickey wanted a modern, monochromatic bouquet with wildflower textures, and Brier + Ivy did an incredible job working with her vision! The soft, whimsical cosmos and Queen Anne’s lace made the arrangement look like Mickey had just gathered it from a nearby meadow. We also adored her Betsey Johnson shoes, which added funky retro flair to her look. They paired perfectly with her reception dress, a strappy mini with a feathered hem!
We designed simple and elegant tablescapes for the couple’s reception, with sweet vintage picnic-inspired details. Dainty bunches of Queen Anne’s lace caught the sunlight and reflected pretty buds onto the ivory tablecloths from Curated Event Rentals. Meanwhile, forest green linen napkins added a pop of color, and transparent vintage goblets added texture. Menus stamped with an image of the venue surrounded by trees and a flowing river referenced the summer camp theme!
Lake Creek Lodge Wedding Reception
However, Mickey and Phil’s reception wasn’t just beautifully designed but a lot of fun! The Bend VW Photo Bus entertained everyone with plenty of costumes and props perfect for preserving memories of the night. The couple also chose a fun, interactive alternative to a traditional guest book: a paint-by-number picture of a forest! Each guest filled in a portion of the painting, and it was amazing to see the complete picture gradually come into view throughout the evening.
While our team doesn’t need to have common interests with the couples we serve, it’s a ton of fun when we do! We really enjoyed getting to know Mickey and Phil, and we couldn’t be happier with how their Lake Creek Lodge wedding turned out. Are you ready to dive into planning your Central Oregon wedding?
