As Bend wedding planners, we’ve had the privilege of working with Crumb Cakery many times. We love collaborating with Tara Ferrara, the owner of this wedding and event bakery in the heart of town! Tara runs a one-woman show, producing each baked good from scratch with only the highest quality ingredients, from massive bespoke wedding cakes to dainty pastries. With the culinary skill to mix up mouthwatering desserts and the artistic flair to make them look beautiful, she’s the real deal (and she’s Insta-famous)!
“My favorite thing about my job is connecting with the coolest couples and creating their vision,” says Tara. “I love the process of being in the kitchen and making delicious, edible art, the rush of wedding season, seeing my vendor friends and chatting over the challenges, and the reward of providing an anticipated part of the wedding: dessert!”

So, Tara created a s’mores dessert cup for them that knocked everyone’s socks off! One thing’s for sure: if the treats at your event are from Crumb Cakery, get ready to watch your guests make multiple trips to the dessert table to load up their plates!
If there’s one thing Tara wishes her clients knew, it’s that they shouldn’t be afraid to dream big and ask for the cake they want. “While I love when couples trust me with their design, it’s helpful when they have a few style details and flavors in mind for me to play off of! The more information I have about them and the other parts of their day (signs, flowers, invitations, etc.), the more my creativity thrives for custom cakes.”
Speaking of creativity, Tara isn’t just a dessert genius who can formulate customized recipes. She also styles each treat beautifully! She’ll arrive early to your event and arrange her pastries in meticulous rows and stacks for the most eye-catching effect. In addition, her wedding cakes each feature decorative accents such as custom toppers and flowers from your florist. From elegant to rustic-chic and minimalist designs, she’s done it all. Not to mention that she’s consistently reliable and a clear communicator! You can count on her to bring your aesthetic vision to life with your bespoke wedding cake.
In fact, Tara is so well-known for her showstopping creations that her reputation got the better of her! “Last season, a couple ordered a cake with a dog figurine and a dug-out hole to look like the dog did it. I received a text from an acquaintance who worked at their venue saying that there was a blemish on the cake and that they would fix it. I thought they were joking because it was a pretty obvious hole in the cake! A few minutes later, they sent a photo of the hole filled in to match the cake design. I was like, ‘OMG, I thought you were kidding! The couple wanted it to look like their dog dug the hole!.’ They dug it back out with a spoon, we had a good laugh, and the couple loved the cake!”
