When trying to describe this wedding, so many words kept coming to mind. Chic. Glamour. Boho. Woodsy. Genuine. Colorful. Playful.

All of these words describe Taylor and James, a local Bend couple who planned an impeccable day at Loloma Lodge for an intimate group of their friends and family. Every last detail was beautiful, from the suede fringe jacket and bridal accessories to the seasonal florals to the champagne tower. Taylor was stunning in shades of cream and white, set against a colorful summer palette of rust, maeve, copper, green, and rich purple. We loved working with Kara Moore Photo, a Colorado based wedding and elopement photographer who made the trip to Oregon to capture Taylor and James in the beautiful woodsy setting of Oregon. The couples portraits are outta this world.

The ceremony included a ring warming exercise, where each guest warmed their wedding rings in their hands before they were placed on each others fingers. We experienced a first at this wedding… A wedding podcaster! The podcaster Douglas Detrick interviewed guests throughout the weekend and put together a podcast episode as a keepsake for the couples’ wedding day. It included the recorded ceremony and speeches. What a unique alternative to a guestbook!

The couple’s first dance was to a personal favorite song: Old Pine by Ben Howard. The lyrics perfectly emulated the feeling of the day: “We stood; Steady as the stars in the woods; So happy-hearted; And the warmth rang true inside these bones; As the old pine fell we sang.” Their friends brought the energy and turned the evening into a dance party under the stars, complete with tacos and gelato to cap off the night.
