Summer Wedding at White Aspen Creative in Bend
A warm boho color palette, a curated guest experience, and grooving on the dance floor were the focus of Emily and Ian’s wedding at White Aspen Creative. We clicked with these two right away after meeting up for drinks at Spoken Moto. They explained that the music and overall vibe of their day were important to them for creating a 10/10 experience for their loved ones. We were stoked to come on board, and before long we had them set up with a partial planning package! Then, we got to work filling in the gaps in their vendor lineup and designing the wedding day of their dreams in White Aspen Creative’s gorgeous DIY space. We couldn’t be more proud of the result!
Boho Summer Wedding at White Aspen Creative
The couple had a vision for a boho color palette featuring mustard yellow, blush, and terracotta. We loved that idea and helped them expand upon it to encompass all of their design elements, from the napkins to the floral arrangements! Emily’s bouquet from Wild Poppy Florist was the pièce de résistance, with roses in shades of blush, mustard, and sunset orange accompanied by textural elements of dried bunny tails and pampas grass. Wild Poppy also provided arrangements in gold bud vases for the couple’s reception. Paired with terracotta napkins and gold-framed table numbers from JennyG Designs, they made the most stunning late summer tablescapes.
In addition, Emily’s wedding party wore floor-length blush gowns, while Ian’s wedding party donned matching floral ties. And, who could forget the couple’s mouthwatering dessert table? A three-tiered masterpiece from Crumb Cakery took center stage, adorned with blush and mustard roses and gold leaf. It looked almost too pretty to eat! Platters of cookies, bars, and pink and white macarons, also provided by Crumb Cakery, completed the spread.
Overcoming Personal and Planning Challenges
No one is immune to wedding week stress, but Emily and Ian endured a true test of their resilience and strength when they learned that Emily’s dad had been hospitalized and would no longer be able to attend their wedding in person. With just a few days to go, we helped them rework their timeline to include a visit to the hospital. We also made adjustments to the ceremony and parent dance components of the day. Although it was extremely challenging for them, the couple took the news and the changes in stride. When the big day arrived, they were able to focus on celebrating their love while Emily’s dad looked on thanks to Facetime.
White Aspen is an intimate venue, and an additional planning challenge we encountered was spatially designing Emily and Ian’s wedding day to comfortably accommodate their guests. Well, judging by the packed dance floor at their reception, we feel confident saying we succeeded! We’ve been to a lot of receptions, but this dance party was downright legendary, fueled by craft beer from The Bevy and Ian’s hilarious dance moves. We’ll run around with paper towels mopping up spills at a party like that any time!
We feel so honored that Emily and Ian placed their trust in us to execute their vision for their special day. If you and your partner are considering tying the knot in beautiful Central Oregon, we would love to connect!
