You never know when you will meet the love of your life. Sometimes its not the right moment, but if its truly meant to be, your lives will be brought back together and that’s exactly what happened for Amanda and Mike.

Originally the pair met in LA and hit it off right away and quickly discovered they had a lot of things in common, even sharing the same birthday. The only hiccup was that neither of them were single at the time.

Mike soon moved to NYC and Amanda to Portland, but that didn’t stop these two from thinking about one another. Eventually, the universe thought it was time that these two were destined to spend the rest of their lives together, so Mike moved to Portland, and they have now been together for more than 5 years.

In their own words, here is their love story:

Amanda and Mike first met through their mutual friend, Jenny. They hit it off at a party one night when Mike was teaching Amanda how to spin records, and they figured out they were born on the exact same day and year. Their lives at that point were headed on two different paths so they maintained a platonic friendship, then eventually lost touch after Mike moved to New York City. In 2012, Amanda was spending her first Christmas in Portland, when Mike visited his family in California and was hanging out with Jenny. Amanda came up in conversation, and later that evening she received a screenshot from Jenny where Mike texted her "I should've married that girl." That was the start of their long-distance relationship, until Mike moved to Portland to be closer to Amanda in 2014.

Their journey took another step forward when they got engaged during a trip to Portugal.

Mike and Amanda had just finished their first full day in Portugal and after a walking food and drink tour of Lisbon, Amanda bought a bottle of Vinho Verde to enjoy on their scenic outdoor terrace. Once they got back to their apartment, she didn't even get to take a step outside before Mike surprised her with a ring.

And of course she said yes!

When it came to their vision for their wedding the duo wanted to embrace their love for the outdoors and camping while prioritizing spending quality time with their friends in the woods. Their vision was outdoorsy, while keeping it classy and that was conveyed in everything from the attire to their décor.

The two envisioned a celestial themed wedding that was embodied with star twinkle lights and crystals on the tables and suited their venue, Loloma Lodge, perfectly.

We loved working with Amanda and Mike because of their playfulness and attitude. It was great to see their community come together to make their dream wedding a reality. We appreciated how they brought playful side to all the details of their day which included a doughnut wall and ice cream sandwiches. Not to mention that the groomsmen even created elaborate charcuterie boards that the guests enjoyed during cocktail hour.

Amanda and Mike truly made a whole weekend out of their wedding celebration. They started off the festivities with floating the McKenzie River and then to celebrate the nuptials on Sunday morning they had “Toast with Toasts” as a farewell brunch where people could gather and share toasts more informally. They ended the weekend by renting the indoor pool at Aqua Gardens.

One of the highlights from their wedding day was all of the amazing music. They had live music for cocktail hour followed by an awesome dance party led by their friend who is also a DJ.

What really stood out during their wedding was that Amanda and Mike really stayed true to themselves by combining sparkly & shiny with woodsy & natural.
